Hello all! I am so excited to introduce myself and my blog! I am Katie and I run the Katie’s Kash site. I am here to help you all learn how to manage debt and find great financial How To’s so you can live your life free of the chains associated with debt and money.
A Little About Me:
I started becoming interested in finances when I was really young. I knew I wanted to be financially free and set that as my goal early in life. I did not want to live in debt and I wanted to make a lot of money so I could do whatever I wanted.
Needless to say life had a different plan for me (since money doesn’t grow on trees and just jump in your pockets!) but I worked hard to get through my twenties and avoid massive amounts of debt until I could fully call myself debt free.
However, I still ended up having $30K of debt by the time I got married! (This was a combined debt of mine and my husband’s debts when we merged our finances together.). My first goal was to get us out of debt. Marriage is hard enough without the weight of debt crushing you down. Within 3 years we had our debt fully paid and were working on saving for a house.
Then the “adult” choices came of buying a house and buying a car. Then maintaining everything. Which costs, costs, costs. That is why I have made it my goal to get out of the “adult” debt and am going to do it publicly through blogging so I can help at least one other person out there figure out how they, too, can live financially free.
My Goals and Beliefs:
I believe it is possible to live a full life without being in debt. My husband and I went from having $30K in debt to $30K in savings and still get to have vacations (we love to cruise!), purchase our toys (who doesn’t want the newest and greatest iPad or iPhone) all without going back into debt. And I know it’s possible for anyone else, too. Neither of us come from a background of money, we just put in the hard work to get to where we are now.
Now to You:
So thank you SO much for joining me as I go even further into my goals of true debt freedom. Please leave a comment below this article and let me know of your own personal financial goals.
